The Arts & Culture Centre’s Aiden Flynn is producing a live concert of all songs on 11:11 Eleven Women Sing The Songs of Ron & Connie Hynes the last weekend of October next year.

Aiden Flynn and the Arts & Culture Centre will be co-producing with Connie Hynes and myself with Sandy Morris as Music Director and Band Lead; in cooperation with the Estate of Ron Hynes.

We are inquiring about your availability in this initial email.

You would be needed here in St. John’s the week leading up to the performance to rehearse and perform October 27, 28.

For those who are living out of Province and City, the Arts & Culture Centre will provide air travel and accommodation if needed.

All performers and musicians will be paid according to rate and guaranteed payment for their performance.

This wonderful CD 11:11 will be thirty years old in 2027 and has never been performed live in its entirety.

Please respond as soon as possible. I have already heard from XXXXXXXXXX who is unable to be here as she will be XXXXXXX at that time.

We plan to add other co-writes of Ron & Connie Hynes to complete a full program of songs for the performance.

It would be good to know if you have performed other co-written songs so we can consider the performing of this in this program.

Hi Ladies!

After agreeing to the change of dates from October to September 2026 the Estate Managers Erin Best and Heather McKinnon have decided anytime next September or October would be too close to their December 28 Delta Fundraiser for the Estate of Ron Hynes and possibly detract and affect their event.

Aiden Flynn had a meeting with the Heather and Erin and they agreed for a fee;we would be permitted to use Ron’s name in the title of the performance (Songs by Connie & Ron Hynes) and move our dates to September. We did comply and yesterday a third request to move the dates was communicated to Aiden Flynn and myself that they would prefer we rescheule for Spring 2027.

I trust this agreement will be finalized so we can proceed confidently to mount the show at the Arts & Culture Centre in the Spring of 2027 dates April 5 – 9 Monday to Friday.

I know these dates April 5 – 9 2027 are sixteen months away but I’m asking once again about your availability.

I look forward to hearing from you soon and wish you all a lovely and peaceful Merry Christmas!

Arts & Centre are producing a live 11:11 Concert Performance set for next October 30, 31.

The Centre will fly you to and from St. John’s and accommodation for those who require it; performance fees including rehearsal to perform Picture To Hollywood.

The dates of rehearsal and performance in St. John’s is week 2026 October 25 – Nov 1 with Performance Oct. 30, 31.

Contacting you about your fees for your performance of your song in NL Women Sing the Songs of Connie & Ron Hynes: 11:11 and Other Co-writes.

For the two dates, Thursday May 7, Friday May 8 performances at the Arts & Culture Centre re: Aiden Flynn is $1,500 for the performance of your song for your two rehearsals, dress and two performances.

Tickets will be going on sale early February so the Arts & Culture Centre are anxious to proceed with the necessary administrative details.

I don’t know about accommodation at this point.

I mentioned it earlier but I haven’t had this confirmed.

Have to talk to Aiden Flynn tomorrow about flight and I will ask about accommodation but we do not have a hotel sponsor or any other sponsorship for travel as such.

The contract is with the Arts & Culture Centre for your fees for performing. The Centre did say they will cover transportation for the five of you travelling here including Connie but accommodation has not been discussed yet.

I shall get back to you when I have more information tomorrow about flights and possible accommodation.

I’m looking for a digital copy of the CD front panel of 11:11 if Connie’s painting so we can use it for the 11:11 concerts promotion and ticket box office image.

We can’t find one anywhere here and I know you were thankfully making the CD available when none was to be had.

My understanding is that Vicky has talked with you about arranging your own travel and we would reimburse you the flight and accommodations if needed. Please let me know if we are both on the same page

The Government of NL pays by EFT and since we are part of the Government that is how your money will come to you. I have attached a form that I need you to please fill out and sign and return to me along with a void cheque so we can get you set up in the system for payment.

Apologies for the delay in responding. Just to clarify things…the ACC is only looking after paying out the travel subsidy…upto $1000 for travel an d$750 for accommodations. Anything else such as performance fee, scheduling, and anything else that you might be looking for will be through Vicky Hynes and Connie Hynes as they are producing the show. Sinc ethe travel and accommodation amounts are coming from us…that is why I need to setup your banking info so I can make the payment to you. Everything else will be between Vicky, Connie and yourselves.

Thanks very kindly for the clarifications. There is still a great deal of confusion, though, as this is what Vicky Hynes said when I asked for a contract:

“The contract is with the Arts & Culture Centre for your fees for performing.”

So Ms. Hynes is telling me that the ACC will be paying me and the ACC is telling me that Vicky Hynes is paying me.

I’m also wondering: Is the ACC expecting the artists to take on the risk of covering their own expenses, to be compensated after the fact? If so, that is not workable for me. Would I be able to send in my invoice now so that I can purchase tickets and book accommodations in advance?

Also, despite making it very clear to Ms. Hynes, the press materials for this show reference a name I no longer use and have not used for twenty years. My name is Liz Solo. How can I have this corrected?

The Arts & Culture are making travel and accommodation contracts for the other six women but Match being the last month of last year’s Arts & Culture fiscal year so the Operations Manager Chris Ball was instructed by Aiden Flynn St. John’s ACC manager to make these business contracts dated April 1.

Theses contracts are for those who are booking and paying upfront for their air travel and accommodation to be later embursed.

You on the other hand; because you said you could not do the process is having their travel and accommodation arranged and paid for by the ACC Administration when they receive next year’s fiscal financial operation funds for projects and co-productions April 2026-2027.

Chris Ball not I don’t understand your quandary about a contract. Frankly we don’t know what all the fuss is about nor the British, I might add about how this is being produced or supported.

You can come and have your ticket paid for the first few days of April and accommodation provided for then or not. That’s the way it’s being done and it’s a damn sight better than waiting until Soring of year next when some of us may not even be around!

It’s as simple as that Liz. If you don’t want to do it then don’t do it but you can stop sending out emails like this shit and shouting the odds to a Staff if the Arts & Culture Centre. They are bending over backwards and doing everything to make this possible.

I totally get your frustration with Vicky – many of us have been there. I actually made the mistake of trying to help her out XXXXXX years ago.

And yes, 11:11 was a shit show- XXXX and XXX stayed on to do all the BGs and did session work as well, but it was only the male session players who were paid.

But that was then, this is now. I did a lot of soul searching before I signed on, and concluded that my desire to share the stage with this amazing crowd of women (your good self included), and a chance to give Connie a moment in the sun outweighed the nasty baggage.

This is a co-production between Vicky and Aiden, so you will be paid. I’m not defending Vicky- she obviously dropped the ball here, and no doubt you will hear from her now.

I just wanted to put my two cents’ worth in to ask you to reconsider, because I would love for you to be there.

Unfortunate that you’ve misinterpreted what you were promised…..as Vicky Hynes stated ….you were being accommodated to have your flight prepaid …when the A&C reached their new fiscal year on April 1st….sorry you weren’t compensated for 11:11 all those years ago …BUT you might want to get your facts straight…as there is NO Ron estate …as far as I’m aware this is still very much in arrears unfortunately…AND Vicky has NOTHING to do with that whatsoever ….this was an opportunity for you to actually be paid?? I’m sorry girl…as I have always admired & loved your gift & spirit….but I have also known you to harshly discredit other musicians I love …and this time it’s gone way too far….not contacting the organizers directly with your concerns & choosing to make it public via group email to all artists & social media is completely unacceptable, disrespectful behavior…I feel even Ron himself would agree….huge part of me did NOT want to engage in this bullshit…but had to be said….think you “shot yourself in the foot” on this one.
